Macie Grace Foundation
Macie Grace was born on November 26, 2007 with a fatal chromosomal disorder called Trisomy 13. She was never expected to survive her birth. She not only survived her birth and beat the odd, but she gave her family the best six days of their lives. She also touched many people during her lifetime and her memory continues to touch people to this day. Our hope is that our sweet Macie Grace's memory will continue to impact the lives of the young people that receive the "Macie Grace Memorial Scholarship" and the families that benefit from the services of the Macie Grace Foundation.
Race for Macie Grace
Since 2008 we have had over 100 individuals each year involved in the ING Hartford Marathon Race as participants or sponsors. This is our primary fundraiser and supports the Macie Grace Foundation and the Macie Grace Memorial Scholarship. Consider joining our team for the 5K. Half Marathon or Marathon races as a runner, a volunteer or a sponsor.

Purpose and Goals
The Macie Grace Foundation is for students that have overcome major challenges in their young lives and for families that have been given a diagnosis that their child is critically ill.
One of our goals is to support famillies while they attempt to make decisions regarding their critically ill child. Our hope is to help these families find answers to questions that they can be at peace with for years to come.
We also help families contact and utilize the services that the hospital has available. These services can allow the family to focus their energy and time on their child and take advantage of the precious time they have with their child before and after birth.
The Macie Grace Foundation awards scholarships under the Macie Grace McCloskey Memorial Scholarship. In the last four years in partnership with the Somers Lions Club, we have awarded $17,000.00 in Scholarships.
